Who you are
As an IKEA Food Co-worker, you demonstrate passion, love and commitment to food, its quality and presentation. You will ideally have experience working in customer facing, fast paced environments, and are enthusiastic about working with others in a team. You have excellent communication skills and demonstrate a polite and friendly manner. Previous experience in hospitality, cookery or work is advantageous, but not essential. You are able to follow strict IKEA Food and HACCP policies and daily operational routines around quality and food safety, including temperature and date checks.
As our store trades 7 days a week, including weekends, you are required to work a mix of day, evening, and weekend shifts, and have availability to work 3 out of 4 weekends (both Saturdays & Sundays) in a month on a rotating roster.
Your responsibilities
As an IKEA Food Co-worker you ensure your area is efficiently maintained as well as clean, organised, attractive and inviting to provide a positive customer experience. You are responsible for, but not limited to:
- Customer Restaurant - Cash handling, customer service and maintaining the customer restaurant.
- Café - Preparing and serving quality coffee for our customers and ensuring the café is always stocked and presentable.
- Kitchen Operation - Food preparation, cooking and customer service with a focus on food safety, controlling waste, and following production levels and cooking methods.
- Dishwash – Processing dishes and maintaining the washing up area and machines whilst supporting and maintaining the cleanliness of the customer restaurant.
- Swedish Food Market and Bistro – Active selling, cash handling, customer service, food preparation and cooking.
